McGolrick Park is a public park located in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. It is named after Monsignor Edward J. McGolrick, a revered Catholic priest who served the community from 1911 until his death in 1940.
The park spans over 9 acres and features a playground, basketball courts, a running track, a large open lawn, and a beautiful pavilion that hosts community events and markets during the summer months.
The park was originally designed in 1889 by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, the same architects who designed Central Park. It underwent a major renovation in 2011 that included new benches and seating, improved lighting, and the restoration of the iconic pavilion.
